
Boise, ID (CBS2) — The Washington medical board is charging Ryan N. Cole, MD with violations in care related to the COVID-19 virus.
The charges allege that Dr. Cole, an Idaho resident that has a license to practice medicine in the state of Washington made several false and misleading statements related to the coronavirus disease pandemic, the vaccines for the coronavirus, and the use of Ivermectin as a treatment for the coronavirus. It also alleges that Dr. Cole provided false information about the effectiveness of wearing a mask that was harmful and dangerous to patients.
Dr. Cole is also alleged to have provided negligent care to patients by not advising patients about treatment guidelines and preventative measures, by proscribing medications that are not indicated for the treatment of COVID-19, and failed to properly document the treatments, the patient history or perform physical examinations of patients, and failed to obtain informed consent.
Dr. Cole was a frequent guest and speaker at public and private forums and on podcasts and news shows discussing the COVID-19 pandemic since 2021 where he allegedly made false and misleading statements about COVID-19, the pandemic, vaccines, masks, and the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19. Some of the statements that Dr. Cole allegedly made were "children survive COVID-19 at a hundred percent" and "A hundred percent of world ivermectin trials have shown benefit."
His alleged statements are said to have created mistrust in the medical profession and in public health having a negative impact on the health and well-being of communities.
Dr. Cole also allegedly claimed on these platforms that he has three years of experience in family medicine which, according to documents, does not appear in his medical license file.
Dr. Cole has until January 30, 2023, to respond to these allegations and charges.
