BOISE, Idaho — It's a cold one alright! Temperatures this morning are sitting in the single digits in the Treasure Valley and over in the mountains, many are below zero. Today's high in Boise is expected to reach 19 degrees.
The wind chill is dropping the feels-like temperature near zero in parts of the Treasure Valley. Areas in the mountains are seeing wind chills up to -30 in some areas. Breezy winds will carry on throughout the day so expect the feels-like temperature to continue to be lower than the actual temperature.
We'll stay dry today, but expect periods of snow showers tomorrow. A winter weather advisory will take effect at 11 p.m. tonight for the lower Treasure Valley, the upper Weiser River, and for Malheur County. That will last until 5 p.m. on Friday. They can expect 2-4 inches of snow over the course of that advisory. That precipitation will return on Saturday as well. Expect light snowfall in the morning for parts of the Treasure Valley. Much of that snow will turn to rain as the day goes on due to temperatures rising above freezing.
