Blumenthal has surgery after breaking leg in parade

Richard Blumenthal underwent surgery Sunday after breaking his leg during a parade in Hartford celebrating the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team. The 77-year-old Democrat said he fractured his femur after a fellow paradegoer tripped and fell on him during a victory celebration for the NCAA champions Saturday. “Routine surgery tomorrow just to make sure everything heals properly,” he tweeted Saturday night.

Children Increasingly Overdosing on Marijuana Edibles

As more states legalize pot, kids are winding up in the hospital after accidentally overdosing on marijuana edibles and parents are being pressed to watch how they store their supply.  Calls to poison centers for kids under age 12 who had eaten cannabis edibles jumped 1,600 percent between 2016 and 2020 to 2,681. So far this year, there have already been over 2,000 calls.  The edibles, which look like candy, cookies, or brownies, typically contain about 10 mg of THC — the chemical component of cannabis that causes a high — and are meant to be taken in single servings, by adults.

Boise, ID (CBS2) — The Washington medical board is charging Ryan N. Cole, MD with violations in care related to the COVID-19 virus. The charges allege that Dr. Cole, an Idaho resident that has a license to practice medicine in the state of Washington made several false and misleading statements related to the coronavirus disease pandemic, the vaccines for the coronavirus, and the use of Ivermectin as a treatment for the coronavirus.

Plastic surgeon who livestreamed procedures on TikTok banned from practicing medicine in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio plastic surgeon’s state medical license was permanently revoked Wednesday after a medical board determined she harmed patients while livestreaming their surgeries on the social media app TikTok. The Ohio Medical Board voted to ban Katharine Grawe — also known as Dr. Roxy in her plastic surgery practice “Roxy Plastic Surgery” and to her many TikTok followers — from ever practicing again in the state. The board said Grawe, who originally had her license suspended in November, neglected her patients as she livestreamed parts of their procedures, spoke into a camera and answered viewer questions — all while the surgeries were taking place.

T1 have announced the addition of South Korean player Byeon ‘Munchkin’ Sang-beom, who was last seen playing for Japanese side Crazy Raccoon, to their Valorant squad.
